Hülya ÅžekercioÄŸlu
Founder
Hülya ÅžekercioÄŸlu started her career by working in the magazine department of Hürriyet newspaper, the most important press organ of Turkey. She was appointed from the editor-in-chief to the general manager of the magazines. For a long time, she did cover interviews for magazines published abroad such as Elle, Instyle, Max, Amica. Later on she continued her career by taking trainings on photography, textile and furniture styling. While taking portrait photos in the photography studio she opened, she also shot television programs on art, politics, sports and food, which she directed and produced. In the same years, she started to style the advertising photographs of textile and furniture companies. She was the consultant for the design of the whole room and corridor artworks of the Istanbul Mövenpick hotel and the related photo book of them. After closing her studio, she went a culinary school and studıed chef&owner program in Istanbul, and attended many training programs on Far East cuisine in London and Paris Le Cordon Blue. Right after, she opened a restaurant that she partnered and managed. After this long experience, she started working on art projects. She continues to work as the art consultant of certain artists, other hotels, galleries and art formations. She has been the art consultant of Four Seasons Hotels, BKM Uniq Hall, Le Meridien Hotel, Barbaros Farm by Sankofa Art Curation, Toçev and General Aviation Airport.
Åžebnem Kutal
Partner and Managing Director
Our gallery's partner and managing director Åžebnem Kutal, who has shaped her 20-years experience in her career as based in Ä°stanbul and London. Having graduated from Mimar Sinan University Department of Art History in 2002, Kutal has completed the program of Arts Management at Birkbeck University London, and the Contemporary Art and the Arts and Finance programs at Sotheby's Institute of Art.
Tugay Tekneci
Assistant Art Director / Stylist
Tugay Tekneci was born in Istanbul in 1997. In 2016, they began their studies at Beykent University, Department of Stage and Performing Arts Management, after winning a merit-based scholarship. During their student years, they worked as a field officer at cultural events such as the Istanbul Film and Jazz Festivals organized by IKSV. At the same time, they gained experience in the art field by participating in various photo shoots and projects.
Their interest in different areas of art led them to writing, and they have prepared a 100-page poetry book they plan to publish in the near future. Since 2019, they have been part of the Sankofa Art Curation team, providing art consultancy to institutions such as Four Seasons Hotel Bosphorus, BKM Uniq Hall, and The Marmara Bodrum. They have also worked as an art consultant for Hepsiburada’s SanatBurada platform. Previously, they coordinated events and exhibitions at Art.Ist Sauna and worked as a columnist for the Gzone magazine.
In 2020, they launched a socially responsible fashion brand called "caos," with proceeds donated to street animals. Since 2022, they have continued their styling career by working as an art and costume director for advertising projects. Tekneci has worked as a styling assistant in the Vakıf GYO commercial and as an art and costume director in the Casper commercial. They completed their styling education at the Istanbul Fashion Academy.
